Lindsey & Ryan Critique the Show
Lindsey Bradford and Ryan McCoy were two fans who attended the show at the Masquerade in Atlanta. Lindsey came to see Escape the Fate and Falling in Reverse and Ryan came to see Chelsea Grin, the opening act.
Shannon: What did you think when you found out that the two bands that you wanted to see were reconciling and touring together?
Lindsey: I was in shock! There has been a long, bitter feud between the guys in Escape the Fate and Ronnie Radke who sings for Falling in Reverse. A lot of the songs that he sings are blatant jabs at his former band mates. I never thought it would happen!
Shannon: Why do you think they decided to "bury the hatchet"?
Ryan: Money.
Lindsey: They knew they shared a lot of the same fan base. I would like to think it was altruistic - like they wanted everyone to get along and have a good time. But I think the primary reason was because they knew that they would be able to really market this as a huge event. All of the fans know about the rivalry between the bands. Maybe some fans even hoped that there would be more rivalry on the road.

Ryan: They accomplished the money thing. Almost every show in the tour ended up selling out. And when each venue would sell out, it made people in other cities panic that if they didn't hurry and buy their ticket, it might sell out as well. So it was a domino effect.
Shannon: This show sold out? Ryan: Yes, about two weeks ago. I saw tickets on Stub Hub going for $125! (They were originally $25) Shannon: What were the show highlights for you? Ryan: The mosh pit! |
Lindsey: The people-watching while listening to music is fun. I just saw a girl in a full-body Pikatchu outfit crowd-surf. There were a lot of moshers and crowd-surfers but everyone is being respectful.
Ryan: It was also cool to see members of both bands come out at the end and do a few old Escape the Fate songs like "Situations" - everyone was so pumped! Lindsey: Someone brought their 5 year old kid and Ronnie Radke talked to him during the show. He invited him to come onstage and give him a High-5, which was cute. |
Shannon: Was the show what you expected?
Ryan: It was better. The crowd was very energetic and everyone was being cool to each other.
Lindsey: Yes. It was what I expected. But the venue leaves something to be desired. The whole time I was standing on the side of the floor, a pipe was dripping water on my head. No matter where I moved, the water just kept dripping. The old, wood floors felt like they were going to give in, too. It was a little scary. But, I am so glad we were able to see this show. It was AMAZBALLS!
